UnbrokenOptic — why polarised?

Polarised lenses cut horizontal glare from water, road, and snow — the kind that bounces back at you in cycling, swimming, or summer running. They reduce eye strain over long sessions and let you spot detail in conditions that would normally make you squint.

UnbrokenFlex — why TR90?

TR90 is the thermoplastic that flexes under impact instead of snapping. After a clean roll on the mat or a rain-slick fall on the bike, the frame returns to shape. Half the weight of metal at the same strength — engineered for sport, not for the boardroom.

Why 28 g matters

At 28 grams the Shades sit below the threshold most people consciously feel. Heavier eyewear creates pressure points behind the ears — exactly where a swim cap, helmet strap, or boxing headguard already wants to be. 28 g leaves room for the rest of your gear.

03 · Manifesto

Performance eyewear. No compromise.

Performance gear has spent a decade chasing categories — running shoes built only for runners, cycling shades built only for cyclists. We started Mindfulsubmerge for the athlete who does both, and more. Built with the same restraint you'd want in everything else.

The Unbroken Shades are the first piece — polarised, UV400, 28 g. Engineered for the road, the track, and every mile in between. One pair of shades that earns its place in your kit.

The athlete we built for

We didn't start Mindfulsubmerge because the market needed another brand. We started it because we were the athlete they don't make gear for — training across disciplines, managing a different kit drawer for each one, and watching every piece of kit fail at the edges of the next sport.

The athlete who runs at 6am and rides on Sunday isn't served by brands built around one discipline. They're forced to mix across ranges not designed to work together. That gap is where Mindfulsubmerge lives.

The problem with specialisation

Performance gear got very good at being very narrow. Specialist running shoes. Specialist swim goggles. Specialist gym tights. Each designed to be optimal in one environment and mediocre the moment you cross into the next.

What got lost in the specialisation is the connective tissue — the gear that's with you across the whole day. The things you put on in the morning and take off at night. The tools that need to work in the weight room at 7am and survive the bike lane at 6pm. That is the category no one has built seriously.

First piece

We started with the tool that travels with you across every outdoor session: the shades. 28 grams. Polarised, UV400. UnbrokenFlex TR90 frame engineered to flex under impact and return to shape. A geometry that sits under a cycle helmet on the road and stays put on the track at pace.

The Unbroken Shades are built for runners and cyclists who want one pair that does both — without compromise on either.

Craft

01 / 04

UnbrokenFlex — frame extrusion

TR90 polymer injected at 230°C into a single-piece mould. The frame forms in under 40 seconds and emerges light enough to hold between two fingers — flexing without fatigue under impact, returning to shape after.

02 / 04

Lens grinding

Each lens ground to ±0.5% optical clarity — the threshold at which distortion disappears at speed. Below that tolerance, the shades become invisible to the eye wearing them.

03 / 04

UnbrokenOptic — polarisation layer

A nine-layer optical stack bonded under heat and pressure. Cuts horizontal glare from road, water, and gym mirrors while preserving full peripheral clarity for sport.

04 / 04

Final inspection

Each pair checked by hand before it leaves the factory — fit, optics, frame alignment. 28 grams. No adjustments expected on your end.
